The Opportunity

HireNow Staffing is acting as a direct placement partner for a confidential commercial general contractor seeking an experienced Superintendent to support multiple active healthcare construction projects in the Charleston, South Carolina market.

This is a high-impact field leadership opportunity for a seasoned builder who can manage complex jobsite execution across more than one project at a time. The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare construction experience, exceptional subcontractor coordination skills, and the ability to maintain safety, quality, and schedule discipline in regulated environments.

This role is well suited for superintendents who are organized, proactive, and trusted to lead without constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

Candidates will be considered for interview based on demonstrated ability to:

• Lead onsite field execution across multiple healthcare construction projects simultaneously

• Maintain oversight of scheduling, sequencing, and milestone delivery across job sites

• Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, documentation, and daily field operations with consistency and control

• Uphold strict safety and quality standards aligned with healthcare construction requirements

• Communicate clearly with project managers, internal leadership, and client stakeholders

• Ensure subcontractor performance, accountability, and alignment across sites

• Anticipate jobsite challenges early and solve problems before they escalate

• Support budget awareness through productivity tracking, scope coordination, and field-level cost discipline

• Travel locally between Charleston-area projects as needed

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

These qualifications are mandatory. Candidates who do not meet all requirements will not be considered.

• 5–10 years of Superintendent experience in large-scale commercial construction

• Proven experience delivering healthcare construction projects (hospital, rehab, surgical, specialty care environments)

• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors independently across active job sites

• Strong execution mindset with a focus on safety, documentation, and quality control

• Ability to work fully onsite in Charleston, SC and travel locally between projects

• Reliable work history with consistent tenure (2–3+ years per employer strongly preferred)

Preferred Qualifications (Standout Differentiators)

Candidates with the following will be viewed as especially strong:

• Experience overseeing multiple concurrent healthcare builds for a commercial GC

• Ground-up hospital or major medical facility construction exposure

• Construction Management degree or equivalent field-based leadership background

• Strong organizational discipline and calm leadership under pressure

• Client-facing professionalism and ability to represent the GC confidently onsite

This Role Is Not a Fit For

The client will not consider candidates who:

• Lack multi-project or multi-site field leadership experience

• Have healthcare exposure limited only to small outpatient clinics

• Struggle with subcontractor accountability, communication, or execution

• Require heavy daily direction or operate reactively instead of proactively

• Have safety, documentation, or compliance gaps

• Have a pattern of job hopping or short-term tenure

• Are unwilling to work onsite full-time or travel locally as needed
