This full-time physician opportunity offers a compelling combination of specialized corneal practice, general ophthalmology, exceptional financial incentives, and long-term career stability. The physician will join a supportive, physician-led Ophthalmology team equipped with modern facilities and technology.
The practice consists of approximately 60% corneal ophthalmology and 40% general ophthalmology, allowing the incoming specialist to maintain a strong subspecialty focus while providing comprehensive eye care.
Compensation ranges from $400,000–$450,000, with long-term earning potential approaching $500,000. The recruitment package may provide up to $470,000 in combined incentives, including a $220,000 sign-on incentive and up to $250,000 toward housing assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage corneal, external eye, and related ophthalmic conditions.
- Provide comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluations, treatment, and longitudinal patient management.
- Maintain an approximately 60% corneal / 40% general ophthalmology practice.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
- Provide specialized corneal care consistent with fellowship training and clinical privileges.
- Manage appropriate preoperative and postoperative ophthalmology care.
- Utilize modern ophthalmic diagnostic, clinical, and procedural technology.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, technicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals.
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, recovery, and long-term eye health.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Participate in quality, patient-safety, and practice-development initiatives.
- Contribute to the continued development of the Cornea service line.
- Pursue clinical leadership opportunities as experience and organizational needs evolve.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Successful completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency.
- Completion of Cornea fellowship training.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
- Current California physician license or eligibility to obtain California licensure.
- Strong clinical expertise in corneal disease and comprehensive ophthalmology.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication, patientcare, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary Ophthalmology team.
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered ophthalmic care.
- Ability to practice onsite in Clovis, California.

HireNow Package
Compensation: $400,000–$450,000 annually
Long-Term Earning Potential: Approaching $500,000, based on the provided compensation structure.
Sign-On Incentive: $220,000
Housing Assistance: Up to $250,000
Combined Recruitment Incentives: Up to approximately $470,000
Loan Forgiveness: PSLF eligible
Annual Incentives: Potential approximately $20,000–$27,000 over time.
Retirement: Pension program potentially providing up to approximately 50% of income during retirement, plus a 401(k) program with approximately $26,000 in annual retirement contributions based on the provided package.
Practice Mix: Approximately 60% Cornea | 40% General Ophthalmology
