We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to join a growing fire protection team specializing in commercial and industrial projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for either an experienced sprinkler designer ready to contribute immediately or an AutoCAD professional with a construction background who is eager to learn the fire protection industry.
Successful candidates will have strong drafting abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, field personnel, contractors, and customers to deliver high-quality fire sprinkler system designs.

Two Candidate Profiles We're Seeking
Option 1 – AutoCAD Designer
- Lives within approximately 40 minutes of Middleburg, PA
Strong AutoCAD drafting experience
Construction industry experience preferred
Fire sprinkler design experience
Willing to learn the fire protection industry
Willing to obtain and maintain NICET certification
Option 2 – Experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer
- NICET Level II (or higher) in Water-Based Systems
Able to design fire sprinkler systems independently from day one
Remote opportunity available
Strong understanding of NFPA codes and fire protection system design
Primary Responsibilities
Design wet, dry, pre-action, and fire sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
Prepare accurate AutoCAD drawings for fire protection systems.
Interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil drawings.
Perform hydraulic calculations and stock listing (material takeoffs).
Coordinate designs with project managers, contractors, architects, engineers, and field personnel.
Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards, local building codes, and project specifications.
Revise drawings based on customer feedback, field conditions, and AHJ requirements.
Support project management through the design process from concept through installation.
Maintain organized project documentation and drawing revisions.
Participate in design review meetings and assist with technical problem solving.
Qualifications
AutoCAD experience required.
Strong drafting and blueprint reading skills.
Construction industry experience preferred.
Fire sprinkler design experience strongly preferred.
NICET Level II in Water-Based Systems preferred.
Candidates without sprinkler experience must be willing to obtain and maintain NICET certification.
Understanding of hydraulic calculations and stock listing is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Valid driver's license required.
