HireLiving is partnering with a well-established engineering and commissioning firm in the Atlanta area to identify a highly skilled Plumbing Systems Engineer or Senior Plumbing Specialist. This organization supports large scale commercial, healthcare, and government facilities where system performance, safety, and reliability are critical.

This role focuses on the commissioning and performance validation of complex plumbing systems across large campuses and mission critical environments including hospitals and military facilities. The position ensures that all domestic water, sanitary, and specialty piping systems operate as designed and meet stringent operational and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties

• Perform commissioning and functional performance testing of large scale plumbing systems across multi building facilities
• Work with large diameter piping systems ranging from 2 inch to 24 inch or greater, including domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm systems
• Validate performance of booster pump systems, recirculation systems, and high capacity water distribution systems serving facilities of 100,000 to 1M+ square feet
• Conduct testing and verification of medical gas systems, vacuum systems, and specialty piping systems in healthcare environments
• Perform flow testing, pressure testing, and system balancing to ensure proper system performance and compliance
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to ensure full system integration
• Identify deficiencies, troubleshoot system issues, and support corrective actions during commissioning and turnover
• Participate in site inspections, startup verification, and integrated systems testing
• Work within high volume documentation environments including commissioning scripts, reports, and test procedures

Required experience

• 7+ years of experience in commercial or industrial plumbing systems
• Experience working on large scale facilities such as hospitals, government buildings, military bases, or institutional campuses
• Strong experience with high capacity water systems, pump systems, and large diameter piping networks
• Hands on experience with drain cleaning, system troubleshooting, and complex piping systems (Rotor Rooter or equivalent high volume service experience is a strong plus)
• Experience with pressure testing, flow validation, and system startup

Preferred Qualifications

• Master Plumber license OR Mechanical Engineering degree
• Experience with commissioning or system performance testing
• Familiarity with codes and standards (IPC, UPC, ASPE, NFPA)
• Experience with medical gas systems and healthcare plumbing systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
