Job Responsibilities:

Develop, set up, optimize, and maintain coating processes for WIPER BU production, ensuring stable, high-quality output.

Define coating process parameters, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet product and automotive quality requirements.

Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance coating quality, adhesion, thickness uniformity, corrosion resistance, and overall process efficiency.

Analyze coating defects (e.g. blistering, peeling, uneven thickness, contamination) and apply structured problem-solving tools (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, DMAIC) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Support new product introduction (NPI), pilot runs, and mass production ramp-up related to coating processes.

Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and R&D teams to ensure robust and compliant coating operations.

Ensure coating processes comply with automotive standards, customer requirements, and internal specifications.

Support equipment selection, process qualification, and line layout planning for coating lines during new plant setup.

Monitor and improve key process indicators such as yield, scrap rate, cycle time, and process capability (CP/CPK).

Ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) requirements, especially in chemical handling, waste management, and ventilation systems.

Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives within the coating area.
Job Requirements:

Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

2-5 years of relevant experience in coating, surface treatment, plating, painting, or related manufacturing processes; automotive industry experience is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of coating processes, materials, chemicals, and process controls.

Experience in coating equipment setup, parameter optimization, and defect analysis.

Familiar with automotive quality systems (e.g. IATF 16949, ISO 9001); knowledge of corrosion standards or testing methods is a plus.

Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Able to work in a fast-paced, new plant/start-up environment.

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese is an advantage.
