Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Sourcing (Supplier Base) will be responsible for managing and optimizing the supplier base for mechanical components, materials, and services. This role involves evaluating, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring that sourcing activities align with the companys quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The Senior Sourcing Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to ensure that all mechanical sourcing activities support the companys strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the sourcing activities for mechanical components, including evaluating and selecting suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers to ensure continuous supply of high-quality mechanical materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best value for the company.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to ensure that the mechanical suppliers meet all technical and quality standards.
- Monitor and assess market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings or improvements in the sourcing process.
- Drive supplier risk management and mitigation strategies, ensuring supply continuity and minimizing disruptions.
- Support product development teams by providing sourcing solutions that meet project timelines and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with internal sourcing policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and work on optimizing total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Conduct supplier audits to assess capabilities, quality systems, and compliance with industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the electronics or manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in supplier evaluation, selection, and management.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive cost reduction and supplier performance improvements.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Experience with procurement and supplier management software.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and supplier audits.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
