Company Background:
Our client company, with its headquarters in Japan, is set to establish a new manufacturing facility at Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. This plant will focus on electromechanical assembly and advanced material fabrication for semiconductor equipment, designed to meet customer needs while also expanding the company's global business.
Job Description
- Responsible for the procurement of domestic materials and logistics-related supplies to support production and operations.
- Prepare monthly procurement budget forecasts and manage payment planning for both local and overseas purchases.
- Manage and maintain good relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely updates on supplier performance and any related data reporting.

Verify and confirm procurement pricing against contractual or agreed rates.
- Ensure the timely delivery and quality compliance of domestically sourced materials.
- Conduct market research and manage procurement processes for overseas materials.
- Handle foreign currency payment applications and ensure accurate forecasting of international procurement expenses.
- Coordinate and report on international supplier performance, maintaining up-to-date records and supplier data.
- Verify international procurement pricing and contract terms to ensure compliance.
- Follow up on overseas material deliveries and handle quality or delivery issues with appropriate escalation or resolution.
- Manage registration of advance payments and overdue payments on foreign exchange management platforms.
Job Requirements
- Language Proficiency: Mandarin (required) for effective communication with suppliers and internal teams in China.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain functions, preferably in a manufacturing or multinational environment.
- Experience in both domestic and international procurement processes is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail in pricing, contract terms, and supplier reporting.
- Familiarity with procurement or ERP software is preferred.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to undergo initial training in China for 2 weeks to 3 months (depending on the role readiness and training needs).
- Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
