Our client is one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing consumer electronics brands, and Malaysia is a key growth market. They are looking for a commercially driven Area Manager to lead and scale Klang Valley retail operations across 5 outlets.
Job Summary:
This is NOT a store manager role, while is a retail growth leadership role. You will own revenue performance, team capability, operational excellence and retail expansion execution, reporting directly to the Country Director.
Job Description:
- Drive revenue growth across 5 Klang Valley outlets with full P&L accountability for the retail channel.
- Set, track and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Analyse sales trends, conversion rates, ATV, traffic patterns and SKU performance.
- Identify risks early and implement corrective action plans.
- Partner with management to design and execute retail campaigns, promotions and incentive structures.
- Provide structured weekly and monthly performance reporting with actionable insights.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Store Managers and retail associates.
- Build a strong performance culture anchored on accountability and service excellence.
- Recruit, onboard and train high-potential retail talent.
- Implement structured training for product knowledge and sales capability.
- Manage workforce planning, scheduling and manpower optimisation.
- Ensure operational compliance across all outlets (SOPs, reconciliation, audit readiness).
- Maintain best-in-class visual merchandising and brand presentation standards.
- Oversee inventory planning, stock replenishment and sell-through optimisation.
- Improve operational efficiency while maintaining customer experience standards.
- Manage relationships with mall landlords and retail partners.
- Negotiate exposure opportunities and marketing collaborations.
- Ensure strong positioning within malls to maximise visibility and traffic.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of multi-store retail management experience.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in consumer electronics, lifestyle, or fast-growing retail brands preferred.
- Data-driven mindset with strong Excel proficiency.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong communication skills in English; Mandarin and Malay are advantageous.
- Prior experience managing landlord relationships in major malls.
