Job Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end fire protection engineering activities for EPC and MEP projects, including pre-sales technical support, concept and scheme design, equipment selection, and technical discussions with clients.
  • Independently prepare fire protection system drawings, technical proposals, tender documents, and support cost estimation, quotation, and bid presentations.
  • Provide technical consultation and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders on fire protection engineering matters.
  • Carry out detailed design and engineering for awarded projects, including preparation of fire protection drawings and project-specific construction or method statements.
  • Review and verify fire protection equipment and material requirements for systems such as fire alarm, automatic sprinkler, gas suppression, hydrant, and other relevant fire protection systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to site installation teams and resolve engineering issues related to piping layout, equipment installation, system integration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Calculate fire protection engineering quantities and support project cost control, audits, and technical verification with clients and third-party parties.
  • Prepare, review, and organize as-built drawings, technical documentation, submission records, and handover documents to support project approval, inspection, acceptance, and final delivery.
  • Lead or support testing, commissioning, and inspection of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with approved specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements.
  • Keep updated on Malaysian and international fire protection codes, standards, regulations, and new technologies.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of fire protection engineering standards, design guidelines, construction procedures, and technical best practices.
  • Support technical training, knowledge sharing, project reviews, and lessons-learned activities to strengthen the engineering team's technical capabilities.
  • Maintain proper documentation and technical records and perform other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Water Supply & Drainage, Mechatronics, or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection system design, engineering, installation, and construction, preferably involving data centers, large commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or EPC/MEP projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire alarm, automatic sprinkler, hydrant, gas suppression, and related fire safety systems.
  • Able to independently handle fire protection design detailing, technical proposals, tender documentation, equipment selection, and engineering calculations.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with BIM/Revit and other engineering design software is an added advantage.
  • Familiar with relevant Malaysian fire safety regulations, BOMBA requirements, Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL), Malaysian Standards, and applicable international standards such as NFPA.
  • Experience in site coordination, technical troubleshooting, installation supervision, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, and project teams.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering standards in English; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage where required for project coordination.
  • Registered Fire Engineer, Professional Engineer, or other relevant fire protection certifications are an added advantage.
  • Willing to travel or be stationed at project sites, including overseas assignments when required.

Salary Range: Up to RM12k
