Role: Ultrasound Technician
Location: Shreveport, LA
Comp: $27-39/hr
Our client is seeking a skilled Registered Ultrasound Technologist to join their team. In this role, you'll conduct medical ultrasound procedures as prescribed by physicians, adhering to guidelines set by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Your responsibilities will include operating ultrasound equipment, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and collaborating with the Radiology Medical Director to deliver optimal patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures independently, with a focus on accuracy and patient comfort.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment as per documented procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergent cases, making quick and informed decisions to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Assist Radiologists in performing ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures to pinpoint precise anatomical locations for diagnosis.
- Ensure accurate billing by documenting all procedures and charges promptly.
- Monitor ultrasound room supplies and equipment status, reporting and resolving any issues that may disrupt workflow.
- Adapt patient care practices to meet individual needs, considering factors such as age, culture, and psychosocial background.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of scanning experience in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound.
- Certification in Abdomen (ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography) required within one year of employment.
- LRST/ARRT Radiologic Technology License.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Certification in OB/GYN or Breast ultrasound preferred.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience ($27-$39 per hour)
