Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to lead our new fractional bookkeeping and accounting services division. This role will involve hands-on accounting and finance work to support our clients, while serving as the primary point of contact for C-level executives and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals assigned to various client accounts
- Establish standard operating procedures and quality control measures for fractional accounting services
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing training
- Allocate resources and manage workload distribution across multiple client engagements
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on client success and professional growth
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as primary liaison between our firm and C-level executives of client companies
- Present financial reports, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Conduct regular business reviews and strategic planning sessions with clients
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and process improvements
- Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of satisfaction
Financial Operations & Oversight
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for multiple clients
- Review and approve financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and industry-specific requirements
- Implement and maintain internal controls and audit procedures
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals as needed
Business Development & Growth
- Collaborate with recruitment team to identify cross-selling opportunities
- Develop service offerings and pricing models for fractional accounting services
- Participate in client acquisition and proposal development processes
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in fractional finance services
Required Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles
- Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity
- Previous experience working with MSP (Managed Service Provider) companies in the US market
- Experience serving multiple clients in a fractional or consulting capacity
- Industry certifications (CMA, CIA, etc.)
- Experience with multiple ERP systems
- Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with multiple accounting software systems (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, etc.)
- Proficiency in SLI is preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling capabilities
- Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms and integration tools
- Knowledge of payroll processing systems and HR information systems
- Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools
- Understanding of various industry accounting practices and requirements
