Job Overview:
The role involves independently managing various accounting processes to ensure the companys financial reporting and records comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and CAS/FAR regulations. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to maintain the integrity of financial data and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly financial consolidation for the parent company and its subsidiaries, including foreign currency translation, intercompany profit analysis, and elimination entries.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, adhering to U.S. GAAP.
- Compile and prepare cash flow statements for all entities, including international subsidiaries, in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Execute monthly closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and conducting variance analyses for multiple subsidiaries.
- Ensure the integrity of the financial reporting process and maintain robust financial controls.
- Conduct cost accounting for manufacturing operations, including variance analysis and cost absorption evaluations for income statements and balance sheets.
- Develop and maintain key performance metrics related to manufacturing efficiency and performance.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather data necessary for monthly closing and variance analysis.
- Participate in the annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
- Participate in physical inventory counts, identifying and reconciling discrepancies.
- Prepare schedules for quarterly income tax estimates.
- Maintain the Fixed Assets register and calculate monthly depreciation.
- Perform Foreign Exchange Gain/Loss calculations.
- Support special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Travel domestically and internationally to other company locations or customer sites as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- CPA certification or a Masters degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and experience in financial statement preparation and consolidation, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate software systems.
- Hands-on approach with a strong ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify root causes, and present clear analysis and solutions to senior management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and organization.
- Experience with Infor Visual or similar ERP systems is preferred.
- Background in an industrial products or manufacturing business, with auditing experience in similar industries, is a plus.
Salary Range: $120k - $140k
