Job Overview:

Seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to oversee a team responsible for managing monthly and quarterly accounting processes for product revenues. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial closes, supporting audit requirements, and maintaining a strong internal control environment. The position involves participation in forecasting and budgeting processes, with a focus on Gross to Net estimates and liabilities for both current and future products. Additionally, this role will drive improvements in the accuracy and efficiency of daily revenue reporting and support commercial management in evaluating product profitability.

The Director of Revenue Accounting reports to the Senior Director of Revenue Accounting and plays an instrumental role in developing team members and collaborating with various departments, including Finance, Commercial Operations, Customer Administration, and Pricing. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in revenue accounting, experience in compliance and operational functions, and proven team management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and review accounting close activities, including contract reviews, account reconciliations, and quarterly analyses.
  • Manage the analysis of sales reserves, ensuring accuracy in month-end and quarter-end processes.
  • Enhance the efficiency of internal reporting, including daily sales metrics, monthly and quarterly revenue analyses, and profitability reports.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for financial planning teams, providing data on gross-to-net reserves.
  • Support external audit and reporting requirements.
  • Address internal requests for product performance analytics.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes and promote scalability in internal reporting operations.
  • Collaborate with other business areas on various initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: CPA certification or an MBA.

Experience:

  • Required: At least 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, with specific experience in Gross to Net accounting.
  • Preferred: Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and with SAP ERP systems.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to engage with senior leadership and external auditors.
  • Expertise in applying US GAAP principles.

Salary Range: $180k - $200k
