Description
The BI Intelligence Specialist will be required to provide the following:
· Prepare a detailed BI user requirement document
· Document the new requirements and complete analysis and design document
· Prepare the database design/structure document based on the requirement
· Design and build the dimensional data model for Data Warehouse and Data Mart
· Convert the user requirements into business model for Cognos BI
· Convert the business model into Framework Manager Models
· Build the security model for the BI implementation
· Create metadata, user groups and folder structure for BI objects
· Create use cases for each of the requirement
· Design, build, test predefined reports
· Create reports using Cognos Analytics V11.1.x
· Test, Debug and resolve BI reporting issues
· Document test cases to ensure expected functionality test is completed
· Deploy reports using COGNOS Framework Manager
· Develop SQL and PLSQL process and procedures to implement complex logic
· Assist with SQL tuning and optimization activities related to the Cognos reports
· Help to optimize the SQL and PL/SQL process for optimal report performance
· Prepare scripts and documentation for the data preparation process and regular performance check & monitoring
· Support user testing and system implementation
· Train SMEs or conduct demos on Ad hoc reporting
· Any other deliverables as assigned by the Project/Resource Manager.
· Knowledge transfer to HSC staff
NOTEAssignment Type: This position is currently listed as "Hybrid" as consultants may be required to work partly in the
physical workplace and partly remotely. The details of this arrangement will be at the Hiring Manager's discretion.
Consistent with screening requirements already in place for OPS employees entering OPS workplaces, FFS Consultants
may be required to complete the Non-Employee COVID-19 Screening Form each time prior to entering an OPS
workplace.
Extension/Amendment Attestation: Extension(s) only allowed using unused days/funds left on contract. No additional
funds will be added beyond the maximum contract value and any extension options included in the original SOW. HSC
may exercise its option(s) to extend an SOW beyond March 31, 2023 for up to one additional extension term of one
year. Such extension(s) will be allowable only if the Master Service Agreement is extended beyond April 5, 2023 and be
upon the same terms, conditions and covenants contained in the SOW.
Must Haves: (Candidates without these skills will not be considered)
In-depth knowledge and experience with Cognos report development, testing in Cognos Analytics v11.1.x (5+ years), must be minimum v10**
Experience in Framework Manager modelling, database design/data model design, point-in-time architecture, and dimensional model (5+ years)
Need to be comfortable with conventional data modelling
Experience in Oracle 19 or higher including writing complex SQL/PL SQL queries and materialized views
Skills: Experience and Skill Set Requirements
Technical Skills – 35 points
· Experience in designing and developing Data Marts or Data Warehouses on a wide- range of data repositories
(relational and multi-dimensional data stores)
· Experience in Framework Manager modelling, database design/data model design, point-in-time architecture, and
dimensional model (5+ years)
· Excellent requirements analysis skills
· Demonstrated experience in working with Power Designer Tool to design logical and physical models, generating
scripts and applying model changes in various
· In-depth knowledge and experience with Cognos report development, testing and server management in Cognos
Analytics and Administration v11.1.x
· Knowledge of Power BI and Tableau
· Knowledge of BI architecture patterns, best practices, processes, and artefacts
· Experience with Agile/scrum and waterfall methodologies, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
· Linux Experience
· Cloud Experience (Azure, AWS)
Core Skills and Experience – 30 points
