Position Summary:

The Talent Pool Commercial Manager oversees all commercial activities on large construction and infrastructure projects under a PMC model, ensuring compliance, profitability, and risk management. They manage contract administration, claims, variations, and budgeting while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to monitor financial performance. Additionally, they support dispute resolution, participate in contract negotiations, and provide strategic commercial guidance to project leadership.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract administration and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Oversee preparation, submission, and negotiation of claims, variations, and change orders.
  • Support budgeting, cost control, and forecasting activities in coordination with project controls and finance teams.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors on commercial matters.
  • Monitor project financial performance and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare commercial reports, correspondence, and documentation for management and client review.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and advise project leadership on commercial implications.
  • Support dispute resolution and claims mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborate with procurement and legal teams as necessary.
  • Ensure all commercial activities align with company policies and contractual requirements.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial management within construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience in a PMC or consultancy role is preferred, particularly on Middle East projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, claims handling, and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with international contract forms such as FIDIC.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    Strong analytical and financial acumen.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
