Position Overview:

We are seeking talented individuals to join our Ports Talent Pool. This is an evergreen position, meaning we are continuously seeking qualified candidates to add to our talent pool for future opportunities in our ports division. As a member of our talent pool, you will have the opportunity to be considered for current and future openings within our ports division.

Key Positions in Port Construction Projects

Project Manager

  • Oversees the entire construction project.

  • Manages budgets, timelines, and coordination between stakeholders.

  • Ensures compliance with legal, safety, and environmental regulations

Civil Engineer

  • Designs and supervises structural elements like piers, seawalls, and roads.

  • Ensures structural integrity and adherence to environmental conditions.

  • Specializations: Marine engineers, geotechnical engineers.

Marine Engineer

  • Focuses on underwater and coastal engineering aspects.

  • Designs elements like dredging plans, wave barriers, and berths.

Geotechnical Engineer

  • Assesses soil, sediment, and underwater ground conditions.

  • Determines suitable foundation types and construction methods.

Hydraulic/Ocean Engineer

  • Studies tides, currents, and sediment transport.

  • Designs water flow systems to prevent erosion and flooding.

Environmental Engineer / Consultant

  • Ensures compliance with environmental standards.

  • Conducts impact assessments, especially concerning marine life and pollution.

Dredging Supervisor / Crew

  • Operates and oversees equipment that deepens or cleans waterways.

  • Essential for creating berths and access channels.

Surveyors (Land & Hydrographic)

  • Use GPS and sonar to map the land and seafloor.

  • Vital for layout planning and precise construction.

Construction Supervisor / Site Engineer

  • Manages daily construction activities on-site.

  • Coordinates teams, equipment, and materials.

Heavy Equipment Operators

  • Operate cranes, excavators, pile drivers, and barges.

  • Essential for handling large materials and underwater work.

Pile Driver / Foundation Specialists

  • Install deep foundations to support docks and terminals.

  • Often involves underwater or floating platforms.

Health & Safety Officer

  • Ensures worker safety and adherence to health regulations.

  • Implements emergency response protocols.

Quality Assurance / Control Inspector

  • Checks that materials and construction meet design specs.

  • Conducts testing and documentation.

Logistics & Procurement Manager

  • Manages supply chain for materials and equipment.

  • Coordinates delivery to remote or coastal construction zones.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide project management support for port development projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for port projects
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Participate in business development activities to identify and pursue new opportunities in the ports sector

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in the ports industry
  • Strong understanding of port development processes and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed
  • PMP certification is a plus
