Position Summary:

The Infrastructure Engineer for highways, bridges, and tunnels leads the planning, design, and technical oversight of large-scale transportation projects. They coordinate with project teams to ensure designs, specifications, and construction activities meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements. Additionally, they monitor progress, provide technical support on-site, and report project status to stakeholders while mentoring junior engineers. 

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site investigations and surveys to determine project requirements
  • Prepare design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for highways, bridges, and tunnels
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of design and construction activities
  • Review and approve construction plans and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Monitor construction progress and provide technical support to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure project standards are met
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate project updates to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on highways, bridges, and tunnels
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D
  • Experience with project management and construction processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
