Responsibilities:

  1. Analysis: collaborating with stakeholders, such as airlines, other airports, and aviation authorities, ground handlers, commercial parties, and others to gather and analyze their specific business requirements related to aviation applications.
  2. System Design: Work closely with vendors for developing detailed specifications and system design documents based on the gathered requirements, ensuring that the proposed solutions align with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
  3. Application Development and Testing: Overseeing the development and implementation of aviation applications, such as but not limited to flight management systems, passenger services systems, and resources management systems.
  4. Integration and Deployment: Ensuring smooth integration of aviation applications with internal and external parties in coordination with IT Infrastructure and integration teams.
  5. System Troubleshooting and Support: Investigating and resolving system issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks related to aviation applications.
  6. Documentation and Training: overseeing Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for aviation applications, including user manuals, system diagrams, and technical specifications. Enhancing transparency with vendors by creating templates of periodical reports, completion reports, and incident reports and follow the process closely with them. Conducting training sessions or workshops to educate end-users on the features and functionalities of new or updated applications.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Staying up to date with the latest trends and advancements in aviation technology and regulations. Identifying opportunities to enhance existing systems or develop new applications to improve operational efficiency, safety, and compliance in the aviation industry.
  8. Quality Assurance: Ensuring application quality through continues monitoring, testing, and performance optimization.
  9. Regulations Alignment: Ensuring compliance and alignment with aviation, cybersecurity, and data regulations.
  10. Performance monitoring: Monitoring the performance of services providers by conducting monthly meetings, collecting periodical reports, and ensuring their alignment with the agreed KPIs.
  11. Requests Management: following end user requests, ensure resolution of the requests, and manage the approval processes with stakeholders, regulators, and IT management.
  12. Application administration: overseeing the Administering of aviation applications, roles, users, and resources.
  13. Routine Tasks: performing the assigned periodical routine tasks to ensure following the industrial recommended preventive maintenance and systems availability.
  14. Audit Reports: Follow and manage closing audit findings with service providers and vendors. 

Qualifications:

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.
  • At least 8+ years of experience supporting aviation applications.
  • Experience in airport management systems.
  • Experience with Flight Systems and Operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in an application support role, and to convey technical information to technical and non­technical users.
  • Ability to focus on mentally challenging technical problems that may take significant time to resolve.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used in the software development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of interface construction.
  • Possessing excellent communication skills, in a variety of methods, is essential in keeping the stakeholders well informed as well as the internal and wider team. Strong customer service experience including documentation and training skills are essential.
  • Maintain positive and respectful engagement with colleagues and clients.
  • Adhere to company and industry policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lead projects using standard IT project management processes (Agile and Waterfall methodologies) and adjust based on individual project complexity and scope.
