Position Summary:
The Talent Pool Land Development Manager oversees all phases of land development projects, from site selection and design to construction and final closeout, ensuring projects meet quality, budget, and schedule targets. They coordinate with clients, contractors, and local authorities to secure approvals, manage risks, and resolve issues while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Additionally, they monitor project progress, enforce compliance with regulations and standards, and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of the land development process, including site selection, due diligence, entitlements, design, construction, and project closeout
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other team members to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Conduct site evaluations and feasibility studies to determine project viability and potential risks
- Prepare and review project documents, including proposals, contracts, and reports
- Coordinate with local government agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
- Manage project budgets and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the course of the project
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and promote future business opportunities
- Stay current on industry trends and developments, and make recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving measures
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in land development, preferably in a project management role
- Strong knowledge of land development processes, regulations, and standards
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
