Position Overview:

The Senior Resident Engineer (RE) is the key on-site representative responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and management of construction activities to ensure the successful delivery of the project. The Senior RE ensures that the project complies with contractual, technical, quality, schedule, and safety requirements while maintaining effective communication between all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the on-site construction supervision team, including engineers and inspectors, ensuring effective management of daily activities.

  • Monitor and ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications, drawings, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.

  • Review and approve contractor submittals, progress reports, and work schedules.

  • Coordinate and facilitate site meetings with the client, contractors, and consultants to resolve technical and contractual issues.

  • Oversee quality control and assurance processes, ensuring all materials and workmanship meet project standards.

  • Manage project schedule monitoring and assist in delay analysis and mitigation.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations on-site.

  • Prepare regular reports on project progress, risks, issues, and resolutions for senior management and clients.

  • Facilitate claims management, change order processing, and contractual correspondence.

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and supervision staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 20 years of relevant construction supervision experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or resident engineer role.

  • Proven track record managing large infrastructure, building, or industrial projects, preferably in the Middle East.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, contract administration (FIDIC preferred), quality control, and health & safety regulations.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficient in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
