Position Overview:
As a Senior Materials Engineer at Hill International, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the quality and compliance of construction materials used across major infrastructure projects. Your expertise will ensure that all materials meet the specified standards, are sourced appropriately, and are utilized effectively throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:

Material Compliance & Approval:
Review and approve contractor submittals, including design documents, specifications, and method statements, ensuring adherence to project requirements and international standards. -
Material Testing & Quality Assurance:
Supervise and coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials, analyzing results to confirm compliance with specifications. Implement corrective actions for any non-conformance. -
Site Inspections & Monitoring:
Conduct regular site inspections to verify the proper use and storage of materials. Ensure that all materials delivered to the site conform to project specifications and are in optimal condition. -
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive records of material approvals, test results, and inspections. Prepare detailed reports on material compliance and quality assurance activities. -
Stakeholder Coordination:
Liaise with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to address material-related issues promptly. Participate in project meetings to provide updates and resolve material-related concerns. -
Continuous Improvement:
Stay abreast of advancements in material technologies and industry best practices. Recommend innovative solutions to enhance material performance and cost-efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. -
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 15 years in materials engineering, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role within large-scale infrastructure projects. -
Industry Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and metals. Familiarity with relevant testing standards -
Regional Experience:
Experience working in the GCC region is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of local construction practices and regulations.
