Position Summary:

Hook-up & Commissioning SPT: Lead and execute the offshore hook-up and commissioning of Single Point Terminal (SPT) systems, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and marine systems. The role ensures that the terminal is fully installed, commissioned, tested, and ready for crude or product transfer operations in compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and operational standards detailed tasks.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute offshore hook-up and commissioning activities for SPTs (e.g., CALM buoy, turret systems, hose systems, PLEMs).
  • Ensure readiness of mooring systems, flexible hoses, risers, product transfer systems, marine loading arms, and quick release hooks.
  • Coordinate installation interfaces between subsea pipeline end manifold (PLEM), risers, and topside SPM/terminal systems.
  • Conduct and supervise pre-commissioning checks, system pressure testing, leak testing, and functional testing of SPT components.
  • Supervise mechanical completion and ensure all systems are safe, operable, and aligned with project specifications.
  • Oversee and participate in system energization, safety testing, and integration of SCADA, telemetry, ESD, and F&G systems.
  • Lead or support commissioning teams, vendors, and subcontractors in executing offshore activities safely and efficiently.
  • Review and ensure proper documentation: punch lists, redline drawings, as-built documentation, commissioning dossiers.
  • Liaise with marine teams for positioning, mooring, and SPT buoy stability post-installation.
  • Work closely with HSE teams to ensure all activities comply with Permit to Work (PTW) and marine safety procedures.
  • Provide support during offshore start-up, performance testing, and readiness for crude/product loading operations.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Electrical / Mechanical / Automation / Instrumentation / Process Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Work experience of twelve (12) years in the sought discipline after earning the university degree.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in total, with at least the last 3–5 years spent on offshore projects.
  • Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write reports.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore marine terminal systems and oil loading infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, hook-up drawings, and vendor packages.
  • Effective leadership, supervision, and coordination of multi-disciplined teams offshore.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and documentation control.
  • Familiar with SIMOPS, offshore logistics, and vessel coordination.
