Positions Summary:
The Marine Projects role provides hands-on experience in managing, designing, and overseeing marine infrastructure projects, including ports, jetties, offshore platforms, and coastal systems. The position involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, monitoring project progress, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards, and supporting timely, on-budget delivery. Participants will gain exposure to marine operations, engineering design, construction supervision, and project management while developing skills for a career in the marine and offshore sector.
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
Marine Engineering and Design Roles
- Marine Civil Engineers/Managers: Expertise in designing and managing the construction of port structures, jetties, docks, and other marine infrastructure.
- Coastal Engineers: Specializing in coastal protection systems, beach nourishment, and the management of erosion and sedimentation.
- Dredging Engineers/Managers: Overseeing dredging operations to ensure the safe and efficient creation and maintenance of marine navigational channels.
- Marine Structural Engineers: Designing and managing the construction of bridges, piers, and other marine-related structures.
- Hydraulic Engineers: Managing water flow systems and conducting studies to optimize port and harbor designs.
Operations and Maintenance Roles
- Marine Operations Managers: Overseeing the operational aspects of marine projects, ensuring smooth logistics and harbor activities, while optimizing efficiency.
- Port Operations Managers: Managing the daily operations of commercial ports, ensuring effective cargo handling, vessel coordination, and security procedures.
- Offshore Operations Managers: Supervising offshore platform operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven experience in large-scale marine projects, particularly in port development, offshore structures, dredging, and coastal engineering.
- Expertise in managing complex, multinational teams and large marine infrastructure projects.
- Experience in project management, with a strong understanding of the marine sectors challenges and technical requirements.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Project Management certifications, Engineering qualifications, Marine Safety certifications) are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic and evolving environments while working with international teams.
