General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of civil engineering aspects of hospitality and commercial construction projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with project teams to develop civil engineering design strategies that align with project requirements and client expectations.
  • Conducting thorough feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate site conditions and requirements for foundations, drainage, and infrastructure.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for site development, earthworks, and utility systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Coordinating with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Performing site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify civil installations meet design specifications and project milestones.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams as required.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in civil engineering.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Approximately 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering roles, with a successful track record in delivering hospitality or commercial construction projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Experience within a Project Management Consultancy or similar organization is advantageous.
