Position Summary: 

The Materials Handling System (MHS) Interface Inspector is responsible for coordinating and supporting the construction, testing and commissioning interface work scope between the main building contractor and the MHS specialist installer, including the integration of the MHS system within the overall Building Management System (BMS). The ideal candidate will also preferably demonstrate knowledge and experience in the installation and commissioning of security screening equipment.

The MHS Inspector will work closely with various team members to ensure coordination and communicated is achieved and will also attend and document workshops and meetings.

The inspector will monitor and inspect the works to assure conformance with the project specifications and the overall design intent of the related project works.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating, inspecting, testing and commissioning works and interface activities between the main building contractor and the warehousing /material handling equipment installer.
  • Reviews related documents and drawings, including reviewing, approving technical submittals.
  • Attend interface coordination meetings, document and follow-up to close out actions.
  • Inspects the works at site as required and documents quality actions for follow-up and close-out.
  • Reviews and maintains detailed documentation of testing procedures, results, and system configurations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversees the integration of the MHS with the BMS to ensure functionality and compliance with design, standards, and specifications.
  • Supports troubleshooting of the MHS /BMS interfaces
  • Provides regular updates and reports

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Building Services Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
  • knowledge of BMS architecture, hardware, and software, as well as various communication protocols.
  • Installation experience in Material Handling System (MHS) and/or major automation systems.
  • Min 7 years relevant experience with demonstrated experience in a coordination role.
  • Team player with good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, proactive attitude and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
  • Good report writing and reporting skills is a must
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with peers, client and other stakeholders.
  • Candidates who demonstrate the above requirements, with the exception of having experience in installation of Baggage Handling Systems rather than Materials Handling System may also be considered for this role.
