Position Summary:
This role leads the development and implementation of project sustainability strategies, integrating green building principles, low-carbon solutions, and environmental best practices across design, construction, and operations. It involves managing sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, Estidama, GSAS), conducting audits, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring compliance with local and international standards. The Sustainability Manager also coordinates with project teams, stakeholders, and authorities while providing guidance, training, and reporting to optimize environmental performance and achieve sustainability goals.
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the projects Sustainability Strategy, including sustainability goals, KPIs, and compliance plans.

Ensure integration of LEED, Estidama, GSAS, or equivalent sustainability rating systems into the design, construction, and operations phases.

Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and consultants to embed sustainability principles across architecture, MEP, and infrastructure disciplines.

Oversee sustainability certification processes including documentation, submission, and audit coordination.

Review materials, systems, and construction practices for sustainability performance and compliance.

Support the integration of low-carbon, water-efficient, and energy-saving solutions into the project.

Conduct regular site visits and sustainability audits to monitor progress and identify improvement opportunities.

Liaise with authorities, utility providers, and sustainability regulators for permit approvals and reporting.

Provide training, workshops, and guidance to project stakeholders on sustainability best practices.

Track project sustainability metrics and produce regular reports for client and executive leadership.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, or related field (Masters preferred).

Minimum 1012 years of experience in sustainability management on large-scale infrastructure or real estate projects.

At least 5 years in a PMC or consultancy role in the Middle East.

Proven experience managing certifications such as LEED (BD+C, ND), Estidama PQP, GSAS-CGP, etc.

Familiarity with ISO 14001, circular economy principles, and climate adaptation strategies.
Deep knowledge of green building systems and environmental design

Strong technical and analytical skills for sustainability assessment and reporting
