Position Summary:

The Planning / Scheduling Manager leads the development, monitoring, and management of project schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones, budgets, and contract requirements. They coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, perform schedule risk assessments, and recommend mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines. The role also includes preparing progress reports, earned value metrics, delay analyses, and supporting client and contractor communications on scheduling matters.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling tools.

  • Establish and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), critical path networks, and integrated master schedules.

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure accurate schedule inputs and progress tracking.

  • Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines against the approved baseline.

  • Analyze deviations, assess schedule risks, and recommend mitigation or recovery strategies.

  • Lead the preparation of periodic progress reports, S-curves, earned value metrics, and dashboards.

  • Support delay analysis and time impact assessments (TIAs) related to changes or claims.

  • Interface with client representatives, contractors, and consultants regarding schedule-related matters.

  • Participate in internal and external project reviews, risk assessments, and progress meetings.

  • Ensure planning and scheduling best practices are implemented across all project phases.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling roles, with at least 5 years in a lead or managerial capacity.

  • Previous experience in a PMC or consultancy environment managing large-scale construction/infrastructure projects.

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.

  • Familiarity with international contract formats (e.g., FIDIC) and scheduling principles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Expert understanding of scheduling techniques and project controls integration

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities

  • Capable of managing multiple project timelines and resolving schedule conflicts

  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
