Position Summary:

The Senior Planning Engineer – Construction Supervision is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, analyzing critical paths, and forecasting potential delays using Primavera P6 and other planning tools. They prepare progress reports, perform delay and forensic analysis for claims, and advise management and clients on schedule performance while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Additionally, they coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients, maintain detailed planning records, and provide expert input in progress meetings and planning-related matters.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain baseline project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Track progress, identify slippages, analyze the critical path, and forecast potential delays.

  • Provide impact assessments for design or construction changes.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, and S-curves.

  • Advise management and clients on schedule performance and recommend corrective actions.

Claims & Delay Analysis:

  • Perform forensic planning and delay analysis to assess claims and extensions of time (EOT).

  • Support contractual correspondence related to planning and scheduling.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives on all planning-related matters.

  • Participate in progress meetings, providing expert planning input.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure all schedules and planning deliverables comply with project and contractual requirements.

  • Maintain detailed records and planning logs.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in project planning, with at least 5 years in the Middle East.
  • Experience on large-scale infrastructure, highways, rail, airports, or mixed-use developments is highly preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of delay analysis techniques 

  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and region-specific regulations.

  • PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or equivalent.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
