Position Summary:

The HVAC / Piping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the installation, fabrication, testing, and commissioning of process and utility piping systems, as well as HVAC systems. This role ensures that all mechanical works are executed in compliance with design specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The incumbent supervises piping and HVAC teams, including welders, fitters, and technicians, to ensure proper assembly, alignment, and system performance. Responsibilities include monitoring hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, duct installation, airflow balancing, and equipment commissioning. The role requires close coordination with other disciplines, participation in constructability reviews, and support for QA/QC inspections and HSE compliance. The HVAC / Piping Supervisor maintains accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, manpower logs, as-built updates, and commissioning records. They ensure smooth project execution, adherence to project schedules, and the successful handover of mechanical systems. The incumbent is expected to uphold Hill Internationals Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures and perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

Piping Supervision

  • Supervise fabrication, erection, fit - up, welding, and testing of process and utility piping systems.
  • Monitor installation according to isometrics, P&IDs, piping class, and material specs.
  • Oversee hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, blowing, and reinstatement.
  • Coordinate with welders, fitters, and pipe support teams to ensure correct assembly and alignment.
  • Review and verify weld maps, spools, and test packs.

HVAC Supervision

  • Supervise installation of HVAC systems including ducting, air handling units (AHUs), fans, chillers, and ventilation systems.
  • Monitor fitting, alignment, sealing, insulation, and supports for ducts and mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with design drawings, airflow balance requirements, and marine/offshore HVAC specifications.
  • Support testing and commissioning: leak testing, duct cleaning, filter installation, and performance checks.

Project Coordination

  • Plan daily activities and assign tasks to technicians and subcontractors.
  • Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available and used safely.
  • Interface with other disciplines (civil, electrical, instrumentation) to resolve clashes and ensure smooth progress.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and walkdowns with QC and commissioning teams.

HSE & Quality Assurance

  • Enforce safety procedures and monitor compliance with PTW, LOTO, and SIMOPS protocols.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments (JSA/JHA). Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections: visual checks, weld inspections, and HVAC pressure tests.
  • Ensure all works meet project specifications, codes (ASME, API, ISO, SMACNA), and client standards.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily progress reports, manpower logs, and as - built updates.
  • Support the closure of punch lists and preparation of mechanical completion dossiers.
  • Collaborate in commissioning and handover activities including test record reviews.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Work experience of ten (10) years in the sought discipline after earning the BSc degree
  • Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write specifications and reports.
  • Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, HVAC duct layouts, and installation specs
  • Hands - on understanding of piping materials (carbon steel, stainless, GRE/GRP) and HVAC components
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills in multi - discipline environments
  • Working knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures
  • Familiar with QA/QC protocols and safety regulations in oil and gas projects
