General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

The duties of the Mechanical Engineer shall include but not be limited to the following tasks:

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop mechanical design strategies that meet project requirements and client expectations.
  • Conduct detailed feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate mechanical systems requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
  • Perform site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify that mechanical installations meet design specifications and project milestones.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Approximately 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering roles, with a proven track record in delivering successful hospitality or commercial construction projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Experience working for a Project Management Consultancy or similar organization is advantageous.
