We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager  - Operational Excellence Manager (PMO) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering from an accredited university and a minimum of 20 years of experience in project management in a large project environment.

As the Operational Excellence Manager, you will be responsible for setting up and running a Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring its efficient and effective operation. Your role will include overseeing all aspects of project management, including engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up/set-up work processes.

To be successful in this role, you must have a thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience of professional project management processes and procedures. You should also have a strong understanding of engineering principles and be able to effectively manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of involvement in continuous improvement initiatives and talent development programs. You must be a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery

- Oversee all aspects of project management, including engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up/set-up work processes

- Develop and implement project management processes and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects

- Monitor project progress and identify and address any issues or delays

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met within budget and on schedule

- Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement strategies to enhance project delivery

- Develop and implement talent development programs to build capacity within the team

- Provide regular reports to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university

- Minimum of 20 years of experience in project management in a large project environment

- Strong knowledge and experience in professional project management processes and procedures

- Working knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up/set-up work processes

- Proven experience in continuous improvement initiatives and talent development programs

- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

- Strategic thinker with a strong focus on delivering results
