Position Summary:

The Technical Manager leads multidisciplinary coordination to ensure all design and construction activities comply with project specifications, codes, and client requirements. The role oversees technical deliverables across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines, resolving on-site issues, reviewing submittals, and supporting value engineering, sustainability, and constructability initiatives. The Technical Manager also liaises with authorities, ensures adherence to international and local standards, and coordinates technical handover and close-out activities.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the review of design and engineering deliverables across all disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.).

  • Provide technical oversight and coordination across design, construction, procurement, and quality assurance teams.

  • Ensure design solutions are fully coordinated, constructible, and aligned with local authority requirements.

  • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals.

  • Manage resolution of technical issues on-site in coordination with contractors, consultants, and the client.

  • Ensure that the technical aspects of the project align with contractual requirements and international best practices.

  • Support value engineering, sustainability, and constructability reviews.

  • Participate in risk assessments, change control, and technical review meetings.

  • Liaise with authorities and ensure technical compliance with codes, permits, and regulations.

  • Assist in handing over documentation, as-built drawings, and technical close-out activities.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in technical coordination and management on large-scale construction projects.

  • Prior experience in PMC or consultancy roles is preferred, particularly in the Middle East.

  • Strong understanding of local building codes, permitting requirements, and international standards.

  • Proficient in engineering coordination tools and software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.).

  • Strong technical review and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent interdisciplinary coordination and leadership skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication

  • Detail-oriented with a strong grasp of construction methodologies and design standards

  • Ability to manage multiple technical interfaces and fast-track deliverables
