Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: North Adams, MA

Duration: Full time

Salary: DOE

Shift: Night shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00pm to 7:30 am; Rotating weekends and holidays

Description:

The client is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to deliver cutting-edge respiratory care in both outpatient settings and the Emergency Department (ED). This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans, ensuring responsive and high-quality care. The ideal candidate will work seamlessly with Physicians, Staff, and Directors in a supportive and cooperative manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed respiratory therapy treatments and procedures.
  • Assess patients' respiratory conditions and create individualized care plans.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests including arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
  • Adjust ventilator settings for patients on mechanical ventilation.
  • Educate patients and their families about respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
  • Maintain and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Provide advanced respiratory support and life-saving interventions in emergency situations.
  • Document patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately in medical records.
  • Follow safety protocols and infection control standards to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Experience: Six months of Staff Therapist experience is preferred but not required.

Education and Training: Graduation from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program at the Registry level.

License, Certification & Registration:

  • MA Respiratory Therapist license (MARTL)
  • National Board for Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT)
  • CPR Certification

Other Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective team-building skills.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing education as both a learner and an instructor.
  • Flexibility to adjust shift hours and days to meet scheduling needs.
