Shift: Night shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00pm to 7:30 am; Rotating weekends and holidays
Description:
The client is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to deliver cutting-edge respiratory care in both outpatient settings and the Emergency Department (ED). This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans, ensuring responsive and high-quality care. The ideal candidate will work seamlessly with Physicians, Staff, and Directors in a supportive and cooperative manner.
Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed respiratory therapy treatments and procedures.
- Assess patients' respiratory conditions and create individualized care plans.
- Conduct diagnostic tests including arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
- Adjust ventilator settings for patients on mechanical ventilation.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
- Maintain and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
- Provide advanced respiratory support and life-saving interventions in emergency situations.
- Document patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately in medical records.
- Follow safety protocols and infection control standards to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Experience: Six months of Staff Therapist experience is preferred but not required.
Education and Training: Graduation from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program at the Registry level.
License, Certification & Registration:
- MA Respiratory Therapist license (MARTL)
- National Board for Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT)
- CPR Certification
Other Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective team-building skills.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing education as both a learner and an instructor.
- Flexibility to adjust shift hours and days to meet scheduling needs.
