We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Compound Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in compound design, polymers, fillers, reinforcements, sustainability efforts  to contribute to cutting-edge projects that drive innovation in the automotive industry. As a Senior Compound Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and refining complex compounds, ensuring their quality and performance meet the highest standards.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $150,000 

This is an onsite role and relocation assistance is available. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop new tire compounds to meet the optimal performance required for customer approvals.
  • Maintain and enhance performance of existing tire compounds to meet customer expectations.
  • Design laboratory studies to evaluate new compound technologies.
  • Seek out new materials technologies.
  • Perform forensic analysis on both new and tested products.
  • Work closely with development engineers on all OEM and Replacement projects concerning compound selections and performance expectations.
  • Travel to plants to assist in new compound development and processing studies as required.
  • Communicate directly with other company R&D centers as required.


Qualifications: 

Education: 

  • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry

Required: 

  • 5-15 years' experience in OEM compound development.
  • Knowledge of tire design, and or standards, as well as OE product development. 
  • Exposure to OE plant development with a broad base of knowledge in compounding science.
  •   

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of regulatory issues concerning materials and tires (highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in the statistical design of experiments.
