Backend Engineer (Python) - Integrations
We're looking for a Backend Engineer with strong experience building reliable, scalable systems and integrating with third-party platforms. In this role, you'll work on our integrations team, designing and maintaining the backend components that connect HeyMilo to external HR, ATS, and recruiting systems.
You'll handle data ingestion, synchronization, and event-driven workflows across multiple partner APIs, ensuring clean, consistent, and dependable behavior end-to-end. This position requires deep technical ownership, thoughtful problem-solving, and close collaboration with product and customer teams as we expand and harden our integrations ecosystem.
What You'll Do

Build and maintain Python FastAPI services that power HeyMilo's integrations ecosystem.

Develop integrations with third-party HR, ATS, recruiting, and enterprise platforms.

Design and operate fault-tolerant, idempotent data pipelines for high-volume processing.

Diagnose and resolve integration issues across multiple external systems.

Improve and optimize existing integration components for reliability, performance, and maintainability.
What We're Looking For

Strong Python skills with production FastAPI experience.

Experience building and maintaining complex third-party API integrations.

Experience designing scalable, reliable data-processing systems.

Strong debugging skills across services and workflows.

Ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
Nice to Have

Experience with message queues or async frameworks (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Celery).

Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD, and modern cloud environments.
