Role Overview
- Core Purpose: Support Purchase to Pay (P2P) activities to ensure suppliers are paid in an efficient, compliant, and timely manner.
- Strategic Location: Join the newly established European Shared Services Centre (ESSC) based in Porto, Portugal.
- Geographic Expansion: Start with the UK market as the initial pilot, with future evolution to support multiple European geographies.
- Phased Transition: Manage operations through a "lift and shift" transition phase followed by a technological transformation and consolidation.
- Stakeholder Management: Adapt to a dynamic P2P environment while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders in a high-volume setting.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Build, manage, and motivate a team of 4 to 12 direct reports, supporting their onboarding, training, and career progression.
- Performance Monitoring: Define clear performance targets, oversee daily workload distribution, and ensure all SLAs are met or exceeded.
- Escalation Management: Act as a subject matter expert to handle complex cases and resolve issues escalated by team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify tactical performance enhancements and develop, optimize, and document robust operational procedures.
- Management Support: Conduct regular performance reviews, administer employee rewards, and deputize for the department manager when required.
Requirements
- P2P Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience working within a Purchase to Pay (P2P) function.
- Leadership Track Record: 2+ years of demonstrated experience successfully managing, leading, and engaging people.
- Language Skills: Strong command of both verbal and written English to support international stakeholders.
- Education & Certifications: Undergraduate degree is an advantage, and an professional accounting qualification is highly valued.
- Professional Profile: Proactive, responsive, action-oriented individual with a strong ability to easily adapt to organizational changes.
