Our Client is part of a renowned international group with offices in several global locations, including Malta. Specialising in international tax advisory, corporate services, and business consultancy, our Client provides a comprehensive range of services to foreign operations doing business in or through Malta. Their expertise spans across accounting, taxation, administration, and business advisory services, with a significant focus on international tax.

Role Overview
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a background in legal, accounting, or corporate services to join a dynamic team in a senior capacity. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, an independent mindset, and a commitment to enhancing corporate governance for an international clientele. In this role, the successful candidate will have substantial input in strategic decision-making and oversee a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with international clients, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and high standards of corporate governance.
  2. Compliance and Governance: Oversee adherence to AML and CSP licensing standards, staying current with local compliance requirements with the support of our internal compliance function.
  3. Team Leadership: Manage and supervise a team of corporate services professionals, coordinating with the tax, accounting, and business advisory teams to provide integrated services.
  4. Service Delivery: Coordinate and deliver professional services, including tax, legal, and accounting support, in a timely and effective manner, meeting the needs of a diverse client base.
  5. Project Management: Engage in advisory projects and collaborate with both internal and external advisors to provide legal and tax support to clients, including involvement in drafting or reviewing agreements as needed.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a legal, corporate, or corporate services firm, ideally within Malta. Experience in corporate law, international corporate taxation, or European VAT is a plus.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of other languages such as German, French, Italian, or Spanish is advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to foster and maintain professional relationships and work effectively within a team-oriented culture.
  • Technical Skills: Solid proficiency in general office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and relevant technical skills in corporate law or accounting.
  • Organisation: Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-Motivated: High level of personal drive, with a results-oriented and competitive outlook.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with an ability to identify practical solutions to complex tasks.
