Role Overview

The Head of Strategy - Financial Products is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, driving, and executing the strategic direction of all product offerings. This role requires collaboration across various teams, with a key focus on innovation, regulatory alignment, and market competitiveness. As a product leader, you will oversee the product lifecycle, ensuring that the company's product suite evolves to meet customer needs and industry trends while also maintaining alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining the Product Roadmap: You will establish and prioritise the product roadmap to ensure it aligns with customer demands, adheres to regulatory requirements, and integrates technological advancements effectively.
  • Overseeing the Product Lifecycle: You will manage the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, which includes overseeing the ideation, design, development, testing, and go-to-market strategies to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Conducting Market Analysis: Regularly analysing market trends and benchmarking against competitors will be essential to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Managing Customer Feedback Platforms: You will oversee platforms that gather customer feedback, analysing this data to identify areas for improvement or potential new product development.
  • Leading Product Development Teams: Building and guiding a high-performing product development team will be crucial, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability to drive results.
  • Monitoring Product Performance: You will be responsible for tracking product performance and related financial metrics, making adjustments as necessary to meet business targets and reviewing the Tariff of Charges.
  • Staying Current on Industry Trends: Keeping abreast of the latest trends in banking technology and financial services, particularly in relation to the Temenos platform, will ensure compliance and competitive advantage.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in product management and development, preferably in the banking or financial technology sector. Experience with the Temenos suite will be an asset.
  • Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Banking, Computer Science, Business Management, Economics, or a related financial field is required. An MBA or similar qualification will be viewed as advantageous.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, are essential to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: You will need to effectively lead and motivate teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Technical Skills: A solid understanding of banking operations, digital banking trends, and regulatory requirements, alongside experience with banking technologies.
  • Organisation: Exceptional organisational and time management skills to balance various product initiatives.
  • Self-Motivated: A self-starter who is proactive in driving product strategies while ensuring collaboration with senior management and relevant teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills, especially in customer-centric product design and market competitiveness.
