Role Overview

As the Head of Insurance Accounting, you will be a key figure in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's insurance accounting processes. This senior role involves leading the insurance accounting team, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving financial performance and strategic initiatives within the insurance division.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership: Lead and manage the insurance accounting team, providing direction, training, and development opportunities.
• Financial Strategy: Develop and implement robust financial strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports for the insurance division.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and laws, liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the insurance division, monitoring financial performance against budgets.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks related to the insurance accounting function, developing and maintaining risk management policies.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as a key liaison between the insurance division and other departments, presenting financial reports and analysis to senior management.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Experience: Extensive experience in accounting and financial management within the insurance sector.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of insurance accounting principles, standards (IFRS/GAAP), and regulations.
• Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems.
