Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Client's team. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for finance and strong analytical skills, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth in the finance sector, whether the candidate is already experienced or pursuing an accounting qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes effectively, ensuring accurate and timely postings of invoices and payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately accounted for and any discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, maintaining a high level of accuracy in financial data.
  • Audit and Compliance Support: Support the finance team with audit and compliance requests, ensuring all necessary documentation and processes are in place.
  • VAT/Tax Filing Assistance: Provide assistance in VAT and tax filing processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Aid in maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments, and support month-end closing activities.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Experience: Relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, or actively pursuing an accounting qualification.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is essential for success in this role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial software (SAP or similar) and advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting, demonstrating honesty and accountability.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and drive.
