System Administrator
About the job System Administrator
A forward-focused energy services organization is in search of qualified candidates for a position involving Systems Administration. This role entails the responsibility of overseeing, supervising, and sustaining both local and remote computing environments encompassing solutions from Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Azure, and VMware.
Primary Responsibilities
User Identity Management and Governance
- Setup and sustain O365 and Azure AD profiles
- Safeguard user accounts against compromise
- Mitigate vulnerabilities across all local and virtual assets
- Monitor the Mimecast email security system
- Configure and oversee impersonation/phishing profiles
- Approve authorized contacts and websites
- Execute archive searches and exploration
Storage Implementation and Management
- Enhance data security against unauthorized access
- Employ Veeam software for data backup and streamlined restoration
- Monitor HP SAN storage devices
- Configure long-term archival storage for corporate compliance
Deployment and Administration of Computing Resources
- Roll out Windows 10 Enterprise laptops and virtual machines
- Deploy virtual machines within virtual networks
- Configure virtual machines for remote desktop deployment, optimizing cost, performance, and security
- Provide contingency recovery for virtual machines
Virtual Network Configuration and Administration
- Set up and configure virtual networks
- Coordinate routing paths, especially in a hybrid cloud setting
- Manage public and private IP addresses for VMs and select resources
- Understand storage architecture, including iSCSI, LUNs, NFS, and RAID
Monitoring and Maintenance of Corporate Assets
- Proficiency with IT tools and support applications such as:
- Meraki networking
- Solarwinds HelpDesk
- PDQ patch management and software development
- Zoom web conferencing and telephony system
- Expertise in hypervisor platforms:
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- VMware vSphere
- Standalone containers and containers managed by Kubernetes
- Skill in PowerShell scripting
- Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
- DocuWare document management system
- QuickBooks accounting
- JavaScript
- Python
- MS SQL Server
- Power BI
- Power Automate
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 8 years of pertinent O365/Azure AD experience is mandatory
Skills
- Proficiency in configuring computer workstations, including mounting, multi-monitor setup, network connections, etc.
- Availability for responding to after-hours emergencies, as required
- Self-initiative
- Staying updated on emerging technologies and providing recommendations
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to work collaboratively and independently
- Strong communication and time management abilities
