Job Description

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the business by managing food safety complaints, ensuring timely upload and follow-up of audit reports, and preparing monthly data reports for internal and external stakeholders. The role also oversees compliance with ethical and sustainability standards, including SEDEX and ETP requirements. This position requires a solid understanding of food safety principles and compliance frameworks, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Effective communication is essential, as the FSQA Coordinator regularly collaborates with internal teams, external suppliers, and third-party auditors to ensure timely resolution of issues and continued alignment with both regulatory and customer standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Investigate, document, and coordinate the resolution of food safety complaints, working closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely and effective corrective actions.
  • Manage the timely upload of internal and supplier audit reports to relevant platforms. Track and follow up on corrective actions to ensure closure within required timelines.
  • Collate and analyze FSQA-related data for monthly reporting. 
  • Prepare accurate summaries and dashboards for internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with SEDEX and Ethical Trade Program (ETP) standards by maintaining up-to-date records, coordinating audits, and supporting supplier compliance activities.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and certification bodies to align on compliance requirements, food safety issues, and data reporting.
  • Maintain an up-to-date register of all suppliers' GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) certifications, ensuring timely renewals, documentation, and alignment with company requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and organized record keeping of complaints, audit outcomes, compliance documentation, supplier certifications, and monthly reports to support traceability and audit readiness.
  • Support initiatives to enhance food safety systems and compliance processes, including identifying trends, recommending improvements, and contributing to SOP updates.

Skills and Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.

  • Attention to detail - Ability to maintain high accuracy and thoroughness when executing tasks
  • Communications skills Excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people, internal and external to the organization. Show clear ability for succinct and to-the-point communication,
  • Adaptability receptive to new ideas and new ways of doing things. 
  • Effectively prioritize according to competing demands and shifting objectives.
  • Open-minded able to embrace new ideas, methods, or approaches at all times, ensuring that the main goal is constantly insight,
  • Motivated learner - Look for and take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills and develop strengths,
  • Able to work autonomously and prioritize own workload and adjust to the needs of the business
  • Team working skills Excellent planning and organization skills, working as part of the transversal team with an FSQA cap, is key.
