The General Ledger Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring that daily accounting records are tracked and maintained upholding the integrity of the financial data. The role is to keep the general ledger updated in a timely manner and help the finance team reconcile accounts reconciliation and help the management for sound decision making using financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Tracks daily transactions and ensures accuracy of financial data that goes to
- accounting records.
- Prepare standard journal entries related to assets, liability, revenue and expenses.
- Post entries to the accounting system according to the established month end calendar guide.
- Prepares amortization schedule of prepayments.
- Prepares cost accruals or provisions, including payroll accrual.
- Prepare and check the correct mapping or cost allocation of personnel expenses.
- Reconcile and investigate balance sheet accounts assigned, reports to management for
- any findings and discrepancies, and request management approval of any reclass or adjusting entries as necessary.
- Participate in month end close, quarter-end close, and year-end close reporting and provide schedules as necessary.
- Participate in any audit (internal or external audit), as necessary.
- Ensure that financial records are aligned to the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IFRS.
- Ensure financial data also complies with PEZA, BOI, SEC and BIR regulations.
- Ensure that accounting records and the complete documentation were saved to its official folder.
- Ensures three-way matching principle of accounting records.
- Understands the financial reports and assists with the preparation of the financial statements as requested.
- Respond to any management queries.
- Performs other related functions as may be assigned from time to time by the finance manager or the team lead.
- Develops, implements or recommend changes to its accounting procedures when applicable.
Role Requirements or Qualifications:
- CPA preferred, but if not, graduate of BS Accountancy with 3-5 years of experience
handling account reconciliation, payroll entries and cost allocation, other GL account
entries and experience with ERP in a fast-paced industry. - Excellent at Microsoft Excel for financial and payroll reporting.
- Experience in Oracle Fusion or any similar ERP system for 3 years.
- Keen to details, focus and with high regard to integrity
- Can do attitude.
- Can bookkeep.
- Analytical and have BPO accounting/finance experience.
- Updated to the latest BIR tax regulations.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- With experience of e-banking portal.
