The Safety Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's employee safety at work and ensures that the company complies and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines.

Job Description:

  • Tasked to implement occupational safety and health programs in the workplace in accordance with the provisions of the standards.
  • Act as the employers principal assistant and consultant in the application of a program to remove the hazards from the workplace and to correct unsafe work practices.
  • Serve as Secretary to the Health and Safety Committee. As such, he/she shall:
  1. Prepare minutes of meetings
  2. Report status of recommendations
  3. Notify members of the meetings
  4. Submit to the employer a report of the facilities of the committee, including recommendations made.
  • Act in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the employer and the workers.
  • Conduct investigation of accidents as a member of the Health and Safety Committee and submits his separate report and analysis of accidents to the employer.
  • Coordinate all health and safety training programs for the employees and employer.
  • Conducts health and safety inspection and audit of facilities and workplace on a daily basis.
  • Maintain or help in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinate actions taken by supervisors to eliminate accidents.
  • Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, annual audit, accident investigation or any other related program as BFP, PEZA, BWC and DOLE.
  • Monitor the health checklist forms daily and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Facilitate earthquake, fire, and safety drills semi-annually.
  • Prepare and submit reportorial to DOLE and other related government agencies.
  • Assist HR/Admin assistant in the day-to-day HR/Admin tasks.
  • Perform other related functions for the Top Management.
  • Maintains or helps in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinates actions taken by supervisors to eliminate accident causes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or any related course
  • With at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in occupational safety.
  • Must have certification in BOSH, LCM and HIRAC
  • Detail, goal and output-oriented
  • Can work with minimal supervision
