1. Main purpose of the job

As the Paid Search Sr Lead, you will lead the strategic direction, innovation, and performance of paid search marketing efforts across HelloFresh, Green Chef, EveryPlate, and Factor. You will oversee a team of high-performing paid search professionals and be responsible for managing a significant marketing investment aligned with company growth objectives. You will serve as a thought leader and internal expert on search engine marketing, driving full-funnel acquisition strategies, automation, creative testing, and budget efficiency at scale. Reporting into the senior leadership of Growth Marketing, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the customer journey, unlocking new growth opportunities, and driving meaningful business impact through search.

2. Responsibilities and duties

  • Own and drive the paid search strategy across brands and regionsensuring alignment with business objectives, marketing goals, and customer lifecycle initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of paid search managers, senior associates, and associates, fostering a culture of performance, experimentation, and innovation.
  • Oversee and optimize multi-million dollar budgets, allocating investment across platforms (Google, Bing, YouTube Search) to maximize efficiency, scale, and ROAS.
  • Set the roadmap for paid search automation, audience strategy, creative testing, and first-party data utilization.
  • Define success metrics and develop advanced reporting frameworks that enable visibility, accountability, and proactive optimization across the funnel.
  • Act as a cross-functional leader, working closely with BI, Creative, CRM, Product, and Finance teams to align paid search initiatives with broader company strategies.
  • Evaluate new platform features, tools, and technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Present strategic insights and performance updates to executive stakeholders, influencing decision-making and driving long-term marketing planning.

3. Skills and preferred qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record and proven relevant experience in a performance marketing or highly commercial role.
  • Demonstrated expertise with a minimum of 6+ years of managerial experience in Paid Search, gained from leading teams either in an agency or client-side capacity.
  • Proven success in managing large-scale search budgets ($10M+) across multiple brands or business units.
  • Deep expertise in SEM platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads), Google Ads Editor, SA360 (or similar), and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency working with large data sets, skilled in Excel / Google Sheets
  • Excellent in stakeholder and client-relationship management with great communication skills.
  • Strong command of full-funnel paid search strategies, including audience segmentation, bidding automation, brand vs. non-brand allocation, and creative testing.
  • Familiarity with tag management & app tracking setup and troubleshooting <is a plus>.
  • Experience working with performance marketing metrics and platform reporting.
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills. Able to use data to optimize day-to-day performance.
  • Strong organizational skills and project management ability
