We are looking for a Systems Resilience Engineer for charging systems. This person should be capable of quickly learning and understanding the fundamental components and systems that make up existing and new products and using that basis to identify potential issues and improve the designs for greater robustness.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for design, development, and testing of control functions spanning across all EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) deployed by the company.
- Interact with all EVSE subsystems and thus quickly gain a broad understanding of charging industry and operation through design, implementation, and hands-on testing and troubleshooting of charging functions on simulators and EVSE.
- Efficiently identify root causes of charger performance issues, catalogue severity, create solutions, test those solutions, and release product updates to improve reliability.
- Interact with customer and partners and participate in system level FMEAs and system safety analyses.
- Some travel required (10%).
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum 2 years of related engineering experience, or advanced degree with 0-2 years control engineering experience.
- Understanding of system design descriptions, logic diagrams and functional block diagrams, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Understanding of interfaces among control applications within software
- Capability to prepare and present technical design decisions and results to internal and external stakeholders as necessary
- Demonstrated experience with model-based control verification and validation tools and practices, including but not limited to model-in-the-loop (MIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), and hardware-in-the-loop (SIL) and rapid prototyping.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn IEC 61131-3 Ladder programming language
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, and Python
- Good fundamental programming skills & practices, including: development, debug, start-up, revision control & state control programming structure
- Basic understanding of Electrical Schematics
- Experience with one or multiple communications protocols like CAN, BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP using wired or wireless.
- Good communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with cross-functional teams and external customers.
