Power Electronics Hardware Engineer

 Job Description:

At Siemens eMobility Charging, we develop advanced power electronics that enable fast, reliable, and sustainable electric mobility worldwide. As a Hardware Engineer in our Module Team, you design the physical power stage of high‑performance converters used in EV chargers for cars, buses, and trucks.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working hands‑on with electronics, translating concepts into robust hardware designs, and seeing their work realized in high‑performance, safety‑critical systems.

Your challenge

You design and develop advanced power electronics for AC/DC and DC/DC converters, where performance, robustness, and manufacturability are essential. By creating high‑quality schematics, optimized PCB layouts, and well‑integrated mechanical designs, you directly contribute to the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of Siemens eMobility charging solutions.

Beyond design, you are closely involved in prototyping, testing, and validation—ensuring that your hardware performs not only in simulations, but also in real‑world operation and series production.

Your role

You will join the Power Module Design Group and take ownership of hardware throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through validation and production ramp‑up.

  • Design power electronics schematics for AC/DC and DC/DC converters
  • Develop multi‑layer PCB layouts with focus on power integrity, thermal performance, and EMC
  • Create and maintain 3D designs of PCBAs and their mechanical integration
  • Work closely with firmware and system engineers to define optimal hardware‑software interactions
  • Support prototype bring‑up, testing, and debugging in the lab
  • Contribute to validation, compliance testing, and reliability assessments
  • Ensure designs meet DFM/DFT requirements for efficient manufacturing
  • Support production and resolve hardware‑related issues in existing products

This is a hands‑on engineering role with real ownership and visible technical impact.

Your profile:

You are an engineer with a strong interest in power electronics and hardware design, and you enjoy working from concept to realization.

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in power electronics hardware development
  • Strong skills in schematic design and PCB layout
  • Experience with 3D PCBA and enclosure integration
  • Proficiency with tools such as Altium Designer, Siemens NX, SolidWorks or similar
  • Solid understanding of power electronics fundamentals
  • Hands‑on experience with lab testing and debugging
  • Fluency in English
  • A proactive and ownership‑driven mindset

What we offer

We offer a technically challenging role with end‑to‑end ownership, direct impact on EV charging infrastructure, and collaboration within a team of experienced engineers. The position is based at the BIC in Eindhoven and comes with competitive salary and benefits aligned with Siemens standards, as well as strong opportunities for growth within Siemens eMobility.
