Job brief
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant - First Assist to work PRN in with our team in the Surgical Services Department. This position is eligible for 8 % PRN Shift Differential.
Responsibilities
Nurse Practitioner First Assist (NPFA) responsibilities under direct supervision of the surgeon while in the Operating Room in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Colorado and the AORN Position Statement. The NPFA practices in collaboration with the surgeon and the health care team in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient. Provides quality nursing care in all areas of surgical services.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Nurse Practitioner (NP) is required from an accredited nursing program and two years of perioperative nursing experience. Successful completion of an NPFA program that meets the AORN Recommended Education Standards for NPFA programs or two years of experience as a documented First Assist. Required annual minimal competence is 250 documented hours.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current CPR certification.
Current ACLS certification.
Current PALS.
Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License in Colorado Unrestricted DEA Registration Certification
