HRRMC Rehab department is seeking an Occupational Therapist to work at our main campus in Salida, CO.   This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week.

SCOPE STATEMENT:
Occupational therapy services are provided for habilitation, rehabilitation, and the promotion of health and wellness to those who have or are at risk for developing an illness, injury, disease,
disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation, or participation restriction. Occupational therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory-perceptual, and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts and environments to support engagement in occupations that affect physical and mental health, well-being, and quality of life. Facilitates mental health screenings, assessment, treatment and triage of care for identified individuals in a
consultative capacity to minimize emotional or otherwise harm to the patient and maximize participation in the individual's plan of care. Provides quality occupational therapy care in all
areas of rehabilitation by performing services at the preventive, acute and rehabilitative stages directed toward achieving increased functional independence and decreased functional decline and the need for more intensive care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Performs the duties per the Occupational Therapist Scope of Practice, including but not limited to:
a. Examines patients with impairments, functional limitations, and disability or other health-related conditions in order to determine a diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention.
b. Alleviates impairments and functional limitations by designing, implementing and modifying therapeutic interventions.
c. Prevents injury, impairments, functional limitations, and disability, including the promotion and maintenance of fitness, health, and quality of life in all age populations.
d. Engages in consultation, education, and research.
e. Maintains a record on each patient including physician orders, diagnosis, treatment, progress, record of attendance and summary, in a timely manner. Submit and verify patient charges for services rendered.
f. Provides appropriate supervision of aides and assistants.
g. Establishes the activities program for swing bed patients, contacting those patients in compliance with hospital requirements.
h. Actively participates in discharge planning.
i. Appropriately delegates care to COTA
2. Interacts positively with new recruits presenting the organization in a positive manner.
3. Communicates any concerns or issues directly with their manager whenever possible or consults immediately with their immediate supervisor. Does not wait to be rounded on to share concerns.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The Occupational Therapist is a graduate of an occupational therapist Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate accredited degree program.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current, active Occupational Therapist License in Colorado or a permit from the licensing board while awaiting licensure exam.
- Current CPR Certification.
