HRRMC's Emergency Department is seeking a PRN (on call as needed) Night Shift Emergency Department Security Officer. This position is scheduled for night shifts, weekends, and will be eligible for an 8% PRN Differential as well as Shift Differentials. 

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The ideal candidate will provide security services in collaboration with HRRMC Security Supervisor to augment the 24/7 culture of security. In addition this role creates emergency accounts, scanning necessary documentation i.e. orders, insurance cards, identification and other correspondence. Recognizing that the registration staff is often the first contact with our patients, tasks are completed with excellent customer service and empathy while working collaboratively with all ancillary departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. On-site timely response to an identified security risk/threat. Is able to de-escalate patients in crisis and/or presenting with aggressive cues. Maintains a high visibility presence.
2. Manages emergency or crisis situations

3. Greets patients, visitors, physicians and employees in a cordial and professional manner, being as helpful as possible.
4. Answers telephone promptly, transfers calls to the correct extension and takes messages when necessary. Practices telephone courtesy at all times, being as helpful as possible to the caller.
5. Is proficient in CPSI registration.
6. Collects, scans, and verifies insurance information.
7. Obtains appropriate consents signed by patient and/or appropriate individual for all services being rendered.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Law Enforcement or Hospital Security experience required.
  • Customer Service preferably in a hospital, medical or physician office preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must maintain current BLS certification.
  • HRRMC offered de-escalation Training within 3 months of hire.
